The Season of Change & Creativity
As autumn settles in and the colours of the season inspire artists and admirers alike, I'm thrilled to share exciting updates from my studio.
I am delighted to be asked by a friend to help support the Primary Shakespeare Company by donating a painting for their annual auction. The Primary Shakespeare Company reaches children across the UK, allowing them to benefit from the transformative experience of performing Shakespeare, helping plant the seeds of creativity and confidence in young minds.
The painting I’m donating is of the ‘Chandos Portrait’ of William Shakespeare, which is one of the most iconic and widely recognised depictions of the playwright. The original hangs in The National Portrait Gallery in London and is believed to have been painted between 1600 and 1610, during Shakespeare’s lifetime, though some scholars suggest it might have been painted posthumously. Needless to say, I have my work cut out on this study!
This month, I’m also very excited to have tickets to visit the Van Gogh’s Poets and Lovers exhibition at the National Gallery in London. As many of you know, Van Gogh’s life and work has always had a profound impact on me and it will be fascinating to see how poetry, literature, and love influenced his works and enriched his journey as an artist.
In November, I’ll be opening my home to the curious, giving you an exclusive glimpse into an Art Forgers Den! This fun event will allow you the chance to see some of my works up close and hear more from me about the inspiration behind each piece. If you’re interested in attending, please contact me to reserve a spot—space is limited!
